It has been quite some time I didn't date her out, since I'm busying for work, looking for new house till I moved and settled down now...And finally, I met her at Jurong Pt for a simple dinner today...

We talked our current work, our future planning, our family, our friends and relationship...

Quite sad to say that, She is the only uni friend I met, which categorised as "often" .......once every 1 or 2 months, others only met in FB haha...

I'll look for you for some sport activities, like what we talked just now, swimming!!!

I think there is a question always being asked by my "friends", when I met them once a month or even longer time... Are you Still stay in the same company?

YES!!!

I am still working in the same company, under the same boss, the same job since I graduated...

There are quite a number of reasons why I stayed with them till now, and NEVER think of changing my current job.

1. A "family" type company - We're one of the S&M enterprises in Singapore, relationship between top management, senior staffs and juniors or assistants are close as family.

2. "Boss" - He is the key person, who work toughest (OT king), intelligent, knowledgeable, and even most patient person in this company (in terms of staff training & experiences and product knowledge sharing session). With the BCM in mind, he able to manage the company and lead us to achieve our targets and goals.. He tried very hard to fight the best staff benefits for us ,when he met with our UK Headquarters every 6 months (we're UK based orgn). Eg, Our trip to Bangkok in year 2010.

3.Staff Benefits - 20 days annual leave (but so far i heard govt job got 28-30 days annual leave, wow....), 2+1 company trips (2 days 1 night Kukup Retreat, 3 days 2 night Bangkok trip, 8 days China trip), 13 months + performance bonus (usual practice for all companies), Allowance, Medical claims, etc...

4.Flexibility - Lots of things are negotiable either with HR or approach MD directly. I can apply to off from work at 5pm or earlier (instead of 5.30pm) for some "special days"...99% you can get the approval if you dare to talk to boss directly..Like today, he free me a half day once he heard that I'm moving soon..

This is my first job and my only full time job, I have no idea how to compare. But so far, at this current stage, I love it and I'm still take it as a very good place to mould my thinking, my ways of handling unexpecting scenarios and so on....To give me a good foundation before I can really be "independent" anywhere I go....

I'm going to move soon, to Bukit Batok this Saturday. Leaving my lovely "ang mo kio", going to miss it, like amk hub, small small shops around the HDBs and my cousin who stayed at amk as well.. I can't meet her yumcha at sg anymore...

I'm going to take half day leave on Friday and going back home (ptn) earlier. And I will drive out to Sg and so called "move house" on Sat morning. Don't plan to take cab, lazy lazy...

I'm lazy baby, my friends always said that..Asked me out, I always said, "Let me think first, i call you back later if I want out"...Lots of excuse I had, they said...

As usual, I rejected the yumcha session on Friday night..But I joined the Sat outing...We went to our familiar yumcha places like "Red People", "Kharina" mamak, so on...This saturday, we planned to go red people to support Wei Kiat's brother again (the coffee shop owner), but ended up stay at Kharina because the coffee shop was full.....haiz, full again..

We back at about 1am...To be continued next week..

I am asking friend to yamcha at night if (my condition to him) *I reach home earlier & I'm not so called "tire"*... My friend wanted to kill me and said: Come on girl, must "chiong" when we're young, don't waste our life...And I'm the one who ask him out + additional condition added..

I laugh, and replied, I felt I'm old already, can not "chiong" anymore......

Sometimes I feel like to have some outing with friends, but sometimes I feel so "tire + lazy" to going out....

When you say "yes" instead of "no", it means that you can do it all, and must do it well..Can you? Think properly before commit, I always tell myself..But under certain circumtances, I have to say yes and I try....

Someone told me, Learning to say no to more requests can be one of the best favors you can do for yourself..I know and I wish to be..Reduced my stress and prioritise what is the important thing to me..Not follow people, not follow instruction blindly. I'm active thinker...

Finally,few days searching I found my new room. It is a common room, located at Bukit Batok, stay with one old lady aged 70++, Malaysian who married to a Singaporean husband and another two poly students.

It is a corner room, the whole house are fully furnished and the shared bathroom is clean. Too bad there is no air-con, S$600 a month. In fact i thought i can get it with S$550 monthly.

I need about 5 mins walk to Bukit Batok MRT, and 35 mins train to my workplace. So far away...I have to wake up earlier start from 1 Aug..

Lastly, thanks hao for sending me this link, i found it online...

Going to start my new year holidays today

It will be a crazy night for me to go through Sg Custom

I am not sure how many hours I will stay there

Waiting for scanning the passport & transferring of buses

That's why I am panning to tell my boss that

I want to off at 5pm instead of 5.30pm

Don't know how he will re-act

But I don't care

I know I have done all important tasks before on leave

About 10 days holidays

I want to eat lots

I want to rest

I have been worked in Sg for 3 months
Getting familiar to my workplace
My staying place
My colleagues my new friends
Have own financial capability
To grab what I need & what I want
Everything looks right
But why
I am not happy at all
Compared to my previous study time
Maybe, it is a stage for me to grow
Working life is much more stressful
Boss expect you to be capable as you are a "Degree Holder"
Should know everything & able to accomplish all tasks given by him
Without excuse
I am sick of listening this
My life is nothing besides of working
Only meeting friends to dine once a week
Watching Channel U & 8 at night
Eating & Sleeping
That's it
All these make my weight kept increase actually, oh my god
Is this the life for working adults?
Crazy Sg people love to work overtime
Without any OT pay
No matter they are single, unavailable or married people
Poor Malaysians have to follow their "Kiasu Culture"
To survive in this fast growing country

My 3rd Week, Confirmed

I called my MD for discussing client's proposal last monday
Before we ended the call, he said there was a good news for me
I wonder
I was so blur at that moment
My brain seem could not function well anymore
Because of the whole day work yet still staying in office untill 7pm

He told me
He confirmed me as permanent staff
I was no longer under the probation
I would get what I expected started from my first month

I was happy after receiving his confirmation at the first day of the week
I got my first pay end of the last week
And I treat my family to eat the first supper
With the money i earned by myself

Two Weeks Work in Sg

I think I am still adapting to my new life. Met my new roommate, Felicia, a girl from Kulai, but have been stayed over Sg for 4 years. A graphic designer, graduated from Nanyang Poly around one year ago. I shared a master bed room with her, with attached bathroom. The room and space are not very big, yet still comfortable. Nevertheless, I miss my ex-roommate lots, cat.

Working life is totally different with study life. Wake up early in the morning and back home at night. Compared to what we did sometimes before, “ponteng class when raining, oversleep, etc”, No more excuse of not going to work. I took 50 minutes journey to my workplace at Bugis area, by train and walking.

What my feeling after joining CIS, the working tempo is very fast, time pass in the twinkling of eyes as we are really busy all the times, have and forced to be fast learner, and damn pressure at work actually. I learned lots of new knowledge and they were thoroughly not related to my previous degree course at all.

One thing I kept grumble is, boss is expecting all employees to overtime everyday, but with NO overtime claim, my godness. Happily, he awarded us with some outing programs during week days within 3 months once.

I have to handle clients individually start from next week, anxious, tension, yet excited. I hope I can handle well, even though I am not yet reach the level of what senior exe doing. By the time I feel like to give up because of the stress from work, I will tell myself, I am paid by Someone while I am learning. And I am the winner in the end, my pressure release then.

My Decision, Signed

Went over The Plaza, Beach Rd this noon. This is a place where new challenges are awaiting me. Met up with my boss's PA, I read, re-confirmed and asking about my doubts. Made up my decision, I signed the offer letter in joining a company in Sg, CIS.

I am currently looking for a share room, best to be nearer to MRT stn, and a good roommate as what I had before. Going Sg again this Sunday to meet my cousin, ah zhen jie..She is my closest relative there. I need her help lots. And she is the one who provides financial support to me for the first month. Thanks to her.

I went CS (City Square)today after Sg to buy some stuffs. On the way I walked from JB Kastam to CS, I met Mr. CH---One of the JJ(johor jaya) gang's member. We were not able to talk with each other but we did some non-verbal communication (we saw each other at the opposite escalator). I think this was the first time he saw me in formal wear. Quite some time I didn't join their gang, the last yumcha session with them was May 2006, before I went KL. That was a farewell yumcha session. That's why they scolded me a lot, in phone.

Something I have to mention today, I ate the tasteless ramen---that I love to eat at "Oh! Sushi", MidValley, with my sista gang. I took it in "Nippon Yataimura", CS level 3, around Innercity Food there. Its taste just like MAggie mee, great differ if compared to MidValley Oh Sushi's ramen . I will never step in that shop again, I think.

I took my dinner myself, while waiting Someone to fecth me at CS. Again, tired...

I have to have a good rest tonight. There is a Ptn sista gang gathering tomorrow night because our Ms. Lim Run Li is going back Kelantan for her endless medic course again. She is the last graduate candidate among our gang, 2 years more, my godness.

Interview Days

I had gone through 4 interviews within this few days
Over the Singapore and Johor Bahru
I went for these four places myself by public transport
No one accompany me or guide me to go
It amazed my friends, who know me well
* Since they said I am weak, not independent enough sometimes
And, I was impressed by myself

The first place I went was Mount Austin Height, JB
I took Maju 96 to JB Larkin
Then from Larkin to Pandan The Store bus stop, a place I never been before
My sis told me to ring the bell once I saw “The Store” and get down there
From there I took taxi to go, nearer and cheaper compared direct from Larkin
I went this interview for the post of Copywriter (Mandarin)
It was a Feng Shui company, I knew about it only when I entered the company
The boss gave me an interview form to fill up and two questions to answer, Sweated
The paper included 1 mandarin essay and 1 translation script from Chinese to English
This paper took me 1 hour to answer because I reach at 4.30pm and the time to knock off would be 6pm
I took half an hour to chat with him and
He offered me with acceptable salary, but I rejected after deeper thought

Yesterday I woke up at 5am and ahead to Gelang Patah at 6.15am
This was the second time I went over Singapore by bus, yet the First time I went alone myself from Tuas Second Link
I took CW3 ahead to Jurong East MRT stn
Interchange at City Hall and ahead to Kembangan LRT
I took taxi from Kembangan to Jln Senang Crescent, where 0.9km to reach the company
I met Mr. Andy (the minor shareholder of orgn, the small boss) and chat with him about 45mins for the post of sales and marketing executive
This was a machinery trading corporation and they actually required someone from either engineering or marketing background
He was a very nice person and talked to me very softly, I felt relax to speak with him
There were chances to go oversea for work, about 2-3 times a year since they were expanding their business to oversea countries
This was the most comfortable interview section I had and I keen in joining, but there was no news from him up till now, Arggg……..

I finished the interview at 11am and I walked out, tried to call Taxi but can’t get through
I was scared because this was an industrial area, not really near to MRT stn
I kept walking till I saw a coffee shop
Without thinking I walked in and seek for help
A guy told me the way to the nearest bus station and I took SBS 42, the only bus out from this area

I went to Bugis Junction to walk around and took my lunch and waiting for the next appointment at The Plaza, around 10mins walk from Bugis LRT stn
I get tension by the time I reached the office, I saw everyone was so busy with work and the phone kept rang all the times
This was an International Certification Organisation in Singapore
The staff in Front Office told me that MD was engaged in short meeting with Admin Manager and I have to wait
The waiting moments made me nervous
I was called to meet with Mr. Dave in his room and we chatted about 40mins I think
I got shocked by him at the beginning because the questions he asked were out of my expectation and different with my last two interview
He didn’t request me introduce myself or his company but my family members (in the end only I realize that he want me to be in a comfort zone, with a simple question as starter, maybe)
He viewed through my entire cert at the beginning and started asked about what I studied for the subjects he selected (in UTAR)
He asked me to talk about UTAR, my FYP, and my activities in campus
He requested his PA, senior sales and marketing Exe to join the interview section after we chatted around 10 mins
Luckily they asked for some common questions like what is the reason for me to pursue my career in Sg, what I plan to achieve, what my previous working experiences, etc
I was requested by Mr. Dave to promote myself in 2 minutes, at least
Followed by asking me to talk about my strengths and weaknesses
Mr. Dave kept ask me why why why and made me breathless
The senior exe told me about the general ideas of my job scopes
I was told by Mr. Dave that they would be an evaluation meeting tonight for the whole day interview candidates

I went back after home at around 5.30pm
Something excited me on the way I back to Pontian
I received the call from the Admin Manager, Jenny
She told me that Mr. Dave has decided to employ me
And I got what I expected
I didn’t accept this offer straight away but requested for a little more time to evaluate this offer

I went Singapore again the next morning for appointment at Novena Square 2
Once I reached the Novena branch, Vivian asked me to meet up with another PIC in Sembawang branch, oh my god
I was not really interested to this job because it required working every weekend, 6 days work
The PIC was 100% Singaporean style with her SOMBONG attitude while talking with me
I traveled from Novena to Sembawang, but this interview only took me 10 mins
Sigh……………..

I met up with Mr. Dave at 5.30pm after receiving the call again from Jenny
She said he hope can meet me once again before he fly over HK on Wed
I talked again with Mr. Dave, he prepared the written offer letter for me, left the starting date of work blank for me, yet hopes I can start work as soon to assist the Senior Exe, because there was a pregnant lady who is going on leave for giving birth soon
Hope I can follow-up her works, I have to trained as soon to make sure I can cope with it later on
I still rejected to sign the offer letter at this moment and promised to reply them latest by this Friday

I am not get ready yet to start work next week, but I have to prepare start from now
Things go very fast and I have to make up my decision
Last two weeks still grumbling about jobless problems
Now have to prepare myself to work in industry

These few days were a tiring and long journey to me
I met some nice and friendly people who assisted me to find the places where I want to go
I met good taxi drivers to lead me how to walk back to MRT stn after interview
I met good interviewers where I had a great time to spoke with them
I am glad to meet them

It was a great night. All her four children were coming back for this celebration. We had a meal at home, ate what our lovely mummy cooked for us. It is Blissful. For her and for us. A small celebration we had at home, she was happy as long as her children stayed with her. What a simple minded mother wants!!!

I had celebrated 2 times mother day on both Saturday and Sunday night. The first night I celebrated with my lovely mummy at home and then outing with my friends. Finally, I met up with them. Yeah yeah....And the second night, I was celebrating with Mr. Chua's family. We had the dinner outside then.

FULLY booked on Saturday and Sunday. LAstly, I back to Kl on Monday noon for coming pr2 activities. My last week kl life, I will move back johor soon.

Finished the last paper today, no more organisation communication.Sweat to do the paper within 2 hours. I had used up 1 hour and 5 mins to do the question 1. I kept fail to the time control over the papers this semester, both media ethics and organ comm. I had told myself to manage my time well before entering the hall. The reminding did not seem work at all after I started to do the question. But I was still so happy and excited after the paper.

Then, hao suggested to have a Yamcha session since everyone not felt like going home at that moment. And we planned to go somewhere with aircon to high-tea. We stayed at the entrance of Utar for quite some time and lastly, decided to go the nearest place, Jaya One " Simply Fusion". Because of its cake.

At around 6pm, we went off because of shally and stephy's swimming plan. Me and hao followed them along. Hao was trying to avoid the traffic jam and I just don't feel like to go home so early. We sat besides of the pool and chatted for lots of things. We even suggested to swim early in the morning on next wednesday. I never try before, and I would like to try then. Lots of pr2 plans to be carried out within these two weeks, before I leave kl. Tomorrow there is another girls' gathering with the same people, kaka~me, hao, shally, stephy and one more, amy.

Knew a story from friend yesterday
Getting shock, feeling angry, and lastly turn to disappointed to him
Genuinely hope what I heard and what I saw was a mistake

I am useless
I feel vulnerable
